We have completed two major plumbing and infrastructure projects at BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park, supporting the installation of new cabins and safari tents designed to elevate the guest experience. While the finished accommodation looks fantastic above ground, it’s what’s underneath where our skilled plumbers went to work on this project.

Our team was responsible for delivering a complete underground plumbing package, including water mains, sewer and stormwater connections, and final hookup once the buildings were in place  all executed with precision, planning, and efficiency.

Laying the Foundations: Underground Services

Before a single cabin or safari tent arrived on-site, we began by preparing the essential services that would support the new accommodations.

Water Mains: We installed new water main lines to ensure a reliable and consistent supply to each cabin and safari tent, with isolation valves for future maintenance access.

Sewer Connections: Underground sewer lines were laid to connect all units to the park’s main system, ensuring smooth wastewater flow and full compliance with local regulations with reflux valves installed for times when flooding occurs in this area.

Stormwater Drainage: Careful grading and pipe placement ensured effective drainage across the site, helping to prevent pooling and direct rainwater away from structures. This included new pits and trenching to manage surface runoff efficiently.

All piping was laid with the correct falls, pressure-tested, and mapped to avoid future complications. We worked closely with the site team and other trades to keep the schedule tight and coordinated.

Above Ground Arrival: Connecting the Cabins and Safari Tents

Once the cabins and safari tents were craned into place, our team returned to site for the final connections.

We completed all service hookups from below, including:

Cold water inlets

Sewer outlet connections

Stormwater downpipe integration

Heat pump plumbing for the safari tents

This approach allowed for clean, concealed plumbing with no exposed pipework, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the builds while ensuring long-term durability and easy access points.

The safari tents, in particular, required thoughtful planning — with elevated flooring and integrated heat pump systems, our below-deck connections had to be precise, neat, and completely weatherproof.

A Seamless Finish

With all connections live and fully tested, the end result is a site that not only looks great but functions reliably behind the scenes. The park can now offer premium accommodation options with confidence, knowing the infrastructure beneath them is solid, future-proofed, and built to last.

We’re proud to have played a key role in delivering this upgrade at BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park — combining underground expertise with top-quality finishes that help create unforgettable guest stays.
